Hi Anonymous, I'm knitting these for the first time right now too! PM is 'place marker' - the increases fall between the markers, then you eventually put those stitches onto waste yarn for the thumb later. Does that help?
My question is - the 'left mitten' pattern goes from row 49 to 55 - am I right in thinking that's just a misnumbering and not an omission, and the '55' is actually 50, like in the right mitten below it? :)
